Alcohol AwarenessPresented by: Deepa Lele
Alcohol is highly prevalent on college campuses. This workshop will
cover this subject in a game format. We will cover areas such as BAC,
health effects, myths of alcohol and tips on responsible drinking. The
purpose of the workshop is to promote responsible drinking on a college
campus. The audience can use this information for themselves and/or
their friends/classmates. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Alpha Phi Omega, Rush 2000Presented by: Peter Fagan
Look who is coming to college. Is your Chapter representative of your
campus population? Alpha Pi Omega, Rush 2000 is designed as a train the
trainer program. In this program Chapters will gain tools that they can
use to evaluate their own Chapter in regards to membership composition.
The program takes a look at the different populations found on a college
campus today and asks the Chapter about the methods they are using to
attract these students to the program that Alpha Phi Omega can offer.

This workshop is geared to inform alumni and graduating seniors of the
opportunities available for them after graduation. Alumni are important
for the continuing success of Alpha Phi Omega. Come and share your
alumni experiences with brothers from different parts of the country.
Begging for Money 101Presented by: Maggie Katz
An introduction to fund raising for chapters. Material includes some
ideas for activities as well as tips for successful fund raising.
Hand-outs will offer specific suggestions for planning, implementing and
publicizing events. The discussion will focus on broader matters such
as taking advantage of resources available on college campuses.
Bringing Usability Design to Your WebsitePresented by: Jim Rodden
What makes a website compelling, interesting, or useful? While the
first three rules of any publishing effort are content, content,
content, this workshop suggests that the next three rules are
presentation, organization, and navigation. We will explore website
development from a publishing perspective, as a task that requires much
more than HTML and scripting skills; it requires careful consideration
of purpose, target audience, and overall information structure. Examples
will be drawn from traditional print media and software design to
demonstrate the basic principles of human interface and usability design
so that all our websites can become more useful -- and more used. Although
targeted primarily at those currently involved in web development,
anyone interested in electronic publishing is encouraged to attend. This
seminar will not cover Internet basics and assumes experience and
comfort with Internet terminology and concepts (HTML experience not required).

This workshop is designed to provide ideas and materials to ANYBODY, be
they Petitioner, Pledge, or Active, for enhancing the Brotherhood within
their group or chapter. Topics covered include chapter workshops and
training programs, the Brotherhood process, promoting Brotherhood
through leadership and service - we even do a rededication ceremony!
You will leave with concrete ideas for building the Brotherhood in your
group or chapter - not vague concepts or inklings of programs - but the
real thing!

Developing Leadership Programs Within Your ChapterPresented by: Matthew Troth
A discussion of the creation of leadership development programs within
chapters. We will be generating ideas, sharing insights, and trying
activities (every participant is expected to bring one fun-learning
activity relevant to leadership development-handouts are welcome!). The
goal of the workshop is for every participant to develop a plan for
their chapter. Because of this, it is targeted to chapter officers and

Disaster PreparednessPresented by: Bill Reed
This workshop will help participants recognize potential disasters and
their effects and help them to prepare themselves, their families,
homes and communities for these potential disasters. Disaster
Preparedness includes assessing possible natural disasters for which you
and your communities are vulnerable, preparing a disaster plan and
teaches possible steps you can take to mitigate or lessen the damage if
a disaster does occur.
