It took me years to collect what i have, and i am very proud of them! They are nowhere near as nice as what you have, however but when you own anything McIntosh, lets face it, its going to sound great! I currently have in my system (whitch could change at anytime, because a true audiophile is never happy) an MR-71,MI-3,MA-6100,MCD-7000,2 MQ-101's, C-24,MQ-104,MC-2100.I also have some vintage pioneer silver faced battle ship early 80's tape decks that are absolutly flawless! A RT-909 reel to reel, and a CT-F950 matching cassette deck both of witch work and look like new! And you thought you were shamelees!!! It sure is nice to see other people out there with the same passion for 2 channel highend audio! You can have all that multiple all in one mass produced garbage out there. comments: It was a truly enjoyed experience to wisit an read this site. It brings back a lot of memories. The first time I was introduced to the McIntosh gear, back in 1971 in Anchorage, Alaska. I was in my mid-twenties, just immigrated from the Eastern block of Europe. Back there to own an audio amplifier ment: to start bending the aluminum sheet, cutting holes for the tube sockets, start rewinding the burntout/surplus transformers, gather the rest of the components - and implementing an already proven design, or design your own circuits (as you graduadly became the "high caliber guru" and mentor for the upcoming stary-eyed followers). Well, that was a long time ago, and went on a very interesting road through digital technology to my present path of electronic systems integration and motion control engineering. I lost touch of audio technology - and just today started wandering, whatever happened to good-old McIntosh manufacturing in this high speed stamp-out Asian made superproducts (that will be throw-away junk by tomorrow) world? I am primarily interested in good music,however, to justify the expense of McIntosh to my wife (she loves movies) a MHT 100 was purchased. Additonally, I purchased a SONY super audio CD player. After listening to a few SACD's, I believe I am now hooked (something I am not proud of but at least its legal). I have subscribed to STEREOPHILE and find myself reading every article, other periodicals or web articles I come across. I would like to bother you with a neophite question. I want to upgrade from my mix matched assortment of cables (acquired from different audio systems I purchased over the past twenty years). The cable choices that I have come across are mind boggling and the price choices are even more amazing. Any recommendations? Thank you.

APC devices are only found on misson critical equipment over here (over here in the Netherlands that is...). Still I wonder if they improve or decrease the sound quality.
