Meeting called to order at 4:30 PM.

Minutes from the November Annual General Meeting (11/03/2001) approved.

Finance Report

We are planning on closing our current account and moving to a new financial institution. Michele Ploessel will be acting treasurer, taking over from Jennifer Hernandez.

New Business

February Letter Writing Campaign

Plan to contact UCSC legislative person to collect sample letters for our writing campaign. We are interested in finding out the campus's priority issues and issues for Los Angles area alumni. We will provide an issues forum at the February Brunch meeting to develop sample form letters. On our letter writing day later in February we will provide envelopes and stamps for people writing with us that evening. We are also trying to arrange to have a representative from campus come down to speak with us at either the February 3 meeting or the February 21 meeting to discuss what issues the campus feels are a priority.

Annual Wine Tasting

We would like to have a more intimate event this year preferably held at a restaurant such as Brunos, Chadwicks, or LA Farms. We are trying to locate a venue for this event. If there are any UCSC Alumni restaurant owners who would like to suggest their restaurant please contact Michele Ploessel at myshel@ix.netcom.com.

Shakespeare Santa Cruz and Alumni Wine Tasting Summer 2002 Trip

Please join us on this exciting trip to reacquaint yourself with UC Santa Cruz!

We are increasing the number of spaces to 30 for this trip. We are trying to schedule a tour of campus in addition to having Los Angeles members attend the Wine Tasting and Shakespeare Santa Cruz.

General Note

The local chapter is trying to plan more social events for this year. If you have any suggestions or would like to host a social event please contact Michele Ploessel.

Also, thank you to Wendy Gault for volunteering to host our March 3, 2002, meeting!
