Meeting called to order at 2:00 PM.

Minutes from the September Business Meeting (9/13/01) approved.

General Meeting

Claude gives a report on the activities of the local chapter over the last year. We organized a trip to see the taping of "Whose Line is It Anyways" in December 2000; had a pizza party in February 2001; the Annual Winetasting featuring Buffy the Vampire in May 2001; Dim Sum Craziness in June 2001; and a trip to the Hollywood Bowl in July 2001.

We are trying to grow in our role in social activism among the alumni and also working directly with the current student population. Roz Helfand has been actively involved in helping to organize this. She will be helping to organize the letter writing campaign for February 2002.

Summer Trip Update for 2002

We are planning on attending Shakespeare Santa Cruz and the Alumni Wine Tasting in July 2002. Fran Zandonella is actively researching the availabilty of housing on campus during the event. If she is unable to locate housing on campus, we will be staying in Hotel Slug (the Holiday Inn which has been converted to dorms.) We are planning to try to arrange a tour of campus for the morning of Saturday, July 27. At the current time costs for the trip are unknown. If you have any questions regarding the trip, or are interested in participating please contact Fran at franz@acm.org

Finance Report

No specific report given. Jennifer Hernandez spoke as to the value of belonging to the Alumni Association and how the local chapter is funded based upon the annual dues we send to the Association.

New Business

We still need to locate people interested in becoming involved in the Alumni Association Los Angeles Chapter. Michele is the chapter Secretary and Treasurer. Fran is continuing as Web Master. We need people to become President and Vice-President.
