Meeting called to order at 11:00 AM.

Minutes from the April Business Meeting (4/1/01) approved.

Upcoming Events

Hollywood Bowl

Get down with the Los Angeles Chapter for a Night in Old Havana on July 15, 2001. The music for the evening features the Buena Vista Social Club, Orquesta Ibrahim Ferrer, Ruben Gonzalez, and Chucho Valdes.

Claude has contacted people who expressed interest at the Wine Tasting in May.

Tickets for the event are $19. Please contact Claude if you have any questions regarding this event.

We must pay for our block of tickets by June 15 so time to sign up for this event is limited.

Summer Trips: Santa Cruz Trip

Most people liked the idea of going to UCSC for the Alumni Wine Tasting & Shakespeare Santa Cruz. Dates for the event are July 27-29, 2001. The Alumni Wine Tasting is scheduled for 5 pm July 28, 2001, with Shakespeare Santa Cruz immediately following in the Glen or Theatre.

Unfortunately there is no on campus housing available during the Alumni Wine Tasting and Shakespeare Santa Cruz. Fran is checking into the availablity of camping at either Big Basin or Henry Cowell.

Possibly a different trip up the the CAL Lodge in Tahoe might be arranged if we do not make it to Shakespeare Santa Cruz.

October Business Meeting:

Discuss possible locations for meeting. Some suggestions are Long Beach Aquarium, Norton Simon Museum, Museum of TV and Radio, Craft and Folk Art Museum, LACMA, La Brea Tar Pits (Page Museum).
