Fantasia Event: January Fran proposed doing a group event to see Fantasia in IMAX. - Fran needs to find out info about doing this event Broadway Tour & High Tea with the Chancellor by Ann Reinhart We have 32 spots for this event. Total Cost: $30 for Broadway Tour and High Tea Broadway Tour: March 4, 2000 Lindsay Doran, President of United Artists & UCSC Alum, will be guiding our Tour through LA's old "Broadway" theatre district. We will be viewing 3 historic theatres and finish our tour with High Tea at the Biltmore with the Chancellor. Please note: this is not the time to sell your screenplay. :-) 32 spots available When: Tour starts at 10am and goes until noon. What to Wear: Wear comfortable walking shoes Where to Meet: Still to be decided Cost: $8 + $3.50 for Parking at Pershing Square High Tea at the Biltmore with Chancellor Greenwood: March 4, 2000 Enjoy High Tea the classy Regal Biltmore Hotel with Chancellor M.R.C. Greenwood. There are only 32 spots available. Winetasting Event: is set for Saturday, May 6th. We would like to have this event at MOCA. Jeremy Strick is a UCSC Alum. Ken Feingold, our TripMaster, has put together this summer's trip. The destination is the pristine beauty of one of UCSC's Natural Preserves in Big Sur. This trip can take 28 - 30 people. The dates are July 14th - 16th (Fri - Sun). People can carpool up or fly, but we will need to be there by 7pm. No kids under 12, please (because it is a preserve). Priority space goes to Alums, so please bring your family or 1 friend only. We will be camping out in tents. There will be picnic tables, and outdoor toilets, but no showers. We will bring lunch for Saturday, and breakfast for both Sat and Sun. We may go out for dinner in Carmel one night or have a BBQ. Maybe we will also go to Esalen for hottubbing. Figure on $25 for food (non-alcholic drinks included - bring your own wine). The total cost will be $75. Food is included and the remainder $50 is the suggested contribution to the Conservancy. We will be able to assist in research (counting butterflies?) and take guided Nature Hikes. We will need to leave by 4pm on Sunday. Fran reports that UCSC still doesn't have a way for her to update our web pages on-line. Her UCSC alumni account has been retired, but Rick Nagle has courteously left the pages up. Rob Barandas in the Alumni office is working on getting the pages moved to the new alumni web site.
