Minutes of UCSC Alumni Association, LA Chapter, 02/20/99


Present:  Lisa Buschmann, Ken & Moira Feingold, Claude Zachary,
Fran Zandonella, Jennifer Brow, Jean Paul Cane

The minutes from the previous meeting 1/16/99 were approved.

Finance Report
The current balance in our account is $5655.00.


Trip Report
Ken Feingold, our TripMaster, reported that we have 17
commited to the trip.  Ken will be taking a class on Scuba Diving to
qualify for a permit;  the class runs about $400.  Interested divers are
encouraged to join in.  Ken also has made up a reading list for the trip
that is available to interested parties.  A t-shirt for the trip will be
done in-house.  We will be leaving on July 20th at 4 PM and will return on
Sunday July 25th in the morning.


Activities Report

Winetasting Event:
Winetasting program is set for May 1 from 1-4 PM at the Buona Vita
restaurant in  Hermosa Beach; street parking is the only option.  Jean Paul
will communicate with Ann.  The fee will be $25 with a $20 fee for '94-'99
graduates.  The maximum amount of participants will be 60.  The Chancellor
will not be coming.  No vintner is set as yet.

Website has been updated with past minutes, Sea of Cortez information and
pictures.

Next Meeting:
The next meeting will be a purely social event - a  potluck - with a
screening of a video to be chosen, at Claude's home on
March 20th at 5 PM, with coordination of dishes to be done by email to
Claude.
