Minutes of the UCSCAA LA Chapter Meeting 9/12/98

Present:  Lisa Buschmann, Anne Montgomery, Ken and Moira Feingold, Susan
Mulleda, Jennifer Brow, Jean-Paul Cane, Claude Zachary

The main order of business was the planning for the annual business meeting
for the Chapter.  The date was set for November 15 (Sunday) at 11 AM.

Various sites were discused, including the Getty Center, the Summit Hotel,
the Santa Monica Pier Ocean Discovery Center, and somewhere at Universial
Studios.  Popular consensus was to try to arrange a meeting at the Getty
Center -- it would be a great draw, since many of us have yet to visit.
Claude will contact the Getty to make arrangements for a get together
there. (So far no results -- keep tuned.  CZ)

The main order of business for the business meeting will be the voting in
of the
officers of the Chapter for the coming year.  So far, the candidates are
Lisa Buschmann for President, Ken Feingold Vice-President, Jennifer Brow
Treasurer, and
CLaude Zachary continuing as Secretary.  Any other interested parties out
there??

Claude volunteered to put together a flyer/mailer for the meeting, and the
mailing will be put together at Ken's office at 11340 W. Olympic Blvd, Ste.
175, on October 15 at 6 PM.  Ken's office # is 310-477-7007 for those who
are interested in joining in.

The upcoming Summer 1999 trip to the Sea of Cortez with Burney LeBoeuf was
discussed next.  We are looking at a late July-early August date.  The trip
is to be
limited to 25 people, with children discouraged.  We will be flying to La
Paz, Mexico, then boarding a boat for 3 nights and visiting 2 to 3 islands
in the sea.  The price appears to be in the $600-800 range.  Dr. LeBoeuf
is still investigating arrangements and we will have more information next
month.

Ideas for future programs -- venues, guest speakers, etc. -- were briefly
discussed and input from those not present is warmly invited.

Interested folks who can't come to our meetings but would like to become
