Minutes from 3/28/98 LA UCSC Alumni Assoc Mtg.

In attendance:  Ken and Moira Feingold, Susan Bok, Steve Klein, Lisa
Buschmann, Claude Zachary

The main order of business was the Santa Cruz Island summer trip, set for
July 25-26.  The departure time will be 7 AM from Oxnard, returning at about
7 PM Sunday evening back to Oxnard.  There will be a maximum of 40 people,
with a fee of $125 including boat transportation, Saturday dinner, Sunday
breakfast and dinner, and housing.  We will be covering the rental of
on-island transportation, and the expenses of hosting Professor Burney Le
Boeuf, who will be our nature guide for the weekend.
Choice of accomodations will be camping out, 6 double rooms, and dormitory,
with price adjustments accordingly.  The publicity will be mailed out with
the upcoming Wine Tasting mailing.  Moira will write the mailing, and also
coordinate the accomodations and individual scheduling arrangements.  Ken (I
believe) will be the liaison with Prof. Le Boeuf.  We're still looking for
the food person...  Volunteers??

Susan reported on the winetasting, which will be held on May 30 at 2 PM at
Bruno's Ristorante in Mar Vista.  David Graves will be present and pouring
Saintsbury wines.  The deposit of $300 has been paid.

Lisa reported that we have about $2000 in the bank.

The issue of looking for Chapter leadership for next year came up.  Our
President Chris Ridder has been accepted to Boalt School of Law at UC
Berkeley beginning in September.  Congrats, Chris!

Chapter business was followed by a very pleasant pot-luck meal.

Meeting adjourned at approximately 8:30 PM.

Our next meeting is scheduled for April 25 at 3:30 PM at the Feingolds.
